Feist - My Moon My Man

My oh my, this is smooth. Not content with sending indie hipsters’ hearts aflutter with her honey-dripping vocals and classy pop stylings, Feist takes a great leap at the mothers-who-buy-three-albums-a-year demographic…but with her cred intact, if not enhanced.
By now you should know the story. Leslie Feist, current member of Broken Social Scene, formerly of By Divine Right, Kings of Convenience -collaborator, ex-housemate of one Peaches, is also an amazing solo artist in her own right. Put simply, - œMy Moon My Man’ is pure pop bliss. And simple it is. Built upon a couple of piano chords, Feist’s voice is the main attraction here. When she coos, rather sensually, to “take it slow / take it easy on me”, hardly a man alive wouldn’t go weak at the knees. The track works on such a level, yet, the beauty of Feist is, it could also be the most innocuous, yet delightfully so, single you hear this year. I sense cross-over potential.
