Bugdust - Remote Control
Tue 17th Feb, 2004 in Music Reviews
Bugdust have grown their beards and tightened the guitar strings for Remote Control, the latest single from their Set to Snap EP released late last year. This Melbourne four piece is fifth gear rock and there’s no point trying to stop this ride until well beyond the city limits.
There’s ample distortion in the twin guitar attack and the cleanly struck riffage is a bit reminiscent of early 90s stuff from the likes of Seaweed. There’s a few broken down parts where the drums get a thump and the bass emerges from the shadows to reveal its country-style loyalty. The vocals are a little overwhelmed, but the instrumental onslaught is a good enough to demand more.
This is not of the suborder.
