28 Days - Like I Do
Tue 6th Apr, 2004 in Music Reviews
Like I Do is the latest single from 28 days one of Australia’s finest crossover bands. This Melbourne 4 piece, have been busting out tunes for few years now. For a long time people would have said that rap and cross-over was an American phenomena that did not travel outside of the US.
Australia has started to produce some great rap bands and along with the birth of cross-over bands like 28 Days have come to shine. No they’re not rhyming about bitches and Gat’s. These guys prove that you can rhyme about something a bit more sophisticated than that. 28 days have been able to construct an individual sound with the use of some decks, the usual rock weapons of choice and taken their sounds to countries like the UK, Japan and France.
Like I Do starts off with some trademark scratching from the talented Jedi on the turntables. With Jay shooting out the rhymes at the start of the song about getting out of bed. The chorus is pretty catchy and Hep has created a catchy bass line to rock along too. 28 Days can tell a story about drinking beer and having a few laughs with friends into a catchy mix of rapping, singing, some nice riffs and some scratching. Mix it all together and you could just as well get a Margarita as 28 Days. Both should be enjoyed on quite afternoon. Check out Like I Do ‘cause it’s well worth a listen. Once again the boys from Melbourne have come up with the goods.
