Wons Phreely - Tonight EP

Wons Phreely ( Justin Wonsley Snowball ) has been busy as of late living the life of a phree man. After releasing the Rules Of Nature EP he embarked on a journey of self-discovery taking in locations like: London, Berlin and New York. Combining these new experiences with a diet of underground electro and classic hip-hop music, this resulted in a different musical direction and EP titled, Tonight.
Wons has embraced the synth, giving the instrument front and centre stage over the guitars and piano that were the mainstay of his previous work. Tonight sees some 80s style synth combined with a ballad-like feel that results in a catchy number that wouldn’t be out of place in a John Hughes film.
Elsewhere he continues cultivating more fine melodies particularly on the catchy fairground-like pop of The World Has A Bank Account. The track is not only socially aware but sees Wons with tongue placed firmly in cheek and is so darned fun! Then there’s some U2-like pop in Replacement while The Romancer is like Architecture In Helsinki-meets-Jonathan Boulet for one amazing rebirth.
The EP sees Wons chartering some new musical territory while he also remains true to his philosophical lyricism and unabashed need for honesty. With travel and new experiences under his belt, Wons has discovered a phreedom of sorts and his music is all the better for it.
