Muscle Car - Single AsUsual

If I had a 12 year-old brother that sk8ted I would swing him this and he would probably say ‘grouse’. But I don’t have one and it’s been many a footy season since I have skated the streets slamming into concrete listening to uninspiring punk music, trying to like it. And really I did try!
Muscle Car’s – Single As Usual is the same old formulas picked up, dusted off and represented. But, hey, if you like a formula that’s tried and tested it’s not bad. On the up side their name is cool, they’re Australian, it’s well produced and there is a cover of New York Dolls ‘Looking For A Kiss’ (although it for me was also pretty uneventful). Track number 5 ‘Hell Yeah, Lets Rock’ is this E.P’s saving grace. A rockin’, dirty duet that hums along, not so nicely. Muscle Car should definitely think of employing the likes of Elea Logan on a few more tracks as her organic scratchy feminine voice gives them a different and more distinct edge to their sound.
