The Beautiful Girls -Weight of the World

Weight of the World is the new single from The Beautiful Girls, the Australian trio whose most recent album, Learn Yourself, has been released abroad in the US and Japan as well as at home. The band also spent much of the year touring North America, showcasing their brand of laid-back, cruisy tunes.
The Beautiful Girls’ penchant for easy-going, positive music (think Jack Johnson, Xavier Rudd, G. Love) continues with the title track, which is a little bit exciting and quite groovy. The Beautiful Girls are fans of utilising a reggae-tinged vocal delivery now and again, and this song is no exception. You’d never be able to tell that they were Australian in this track.
Other tracks on the single include a remix of Blackbird (one of the songs off Learn Yourself) the appropriately named Summertime, which is one of the fastest songs I’ve heard from this band, and the acoustic and mellow I Need To Give My Broken Heart Away.
There is nothing outlandishly different about this single when compared to previous releases, but there is obviously no need for change; The Beautiful Girls are adepts at this style of bluesy, folksy music, and will surely not disappoint their fans with this effort.
