Hallelujah and praise be for the return of some holy rolling gospel from the god fearing Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. Get Ready For Love is the third single released from the two album set The Lyre of Orpheus/Abbatoir Blues [MOJO Best Album 2004].

This hell, fire and brimstone number is the opening track on Abbatoir Blues and finds The Bad Seeds at their best. It’s a clamour of percussion and gospel singing harmonies with Nick hollering

like a possessed evangelist prophesying something, anything, to scare the bejesus out of his trusting disciples. Of course, it is brilliant, and there’s the added bonus of a breathless take on There She Goes My Beautiful World recorded live at BBC’s Maida Vale studios.

No doubt Nick, The Seeds and guest gospel singers will be belting this one out on their forthcoming Australia tour.
