Bullet For My Valentine -Scream Aim Fire

One word; brutal. That’s the word to describe Bullet For My Valentine’s second album Scream Aim Fire, released 28th January 2008 by Sony BMG. There are no surprises from the Welsh quartet. You know that you’re getting in your face vocals, thumping double bass drumming, and overall guitar abuse with lightning-fast shredding and blistering solos. These guys are pure metal.

Even though their influences creep in sporadically, with a hint of Dimebag Darrell and the comfortable chugging of Iron Maiden, Bullet For My Valentine have undoubtedly engraved their own name into the modern day metal genre. Once again, lead guitarist Michael Paget, displays amazing chops that will just blow your mind.

Arguably, the best tracks on the album are Deliver Us From Evil, Say Goodnight, Waking The Demon, and Hearts Burst Into Fire.

While their debut album The Poison boasts a more epic feel with songs building from slow intros, into an intense monstrous riff-athon, Scream Aim Fire is simply full throttle from start to finish.

The album has been cleverly marketed with different editions. But make sure you listen to their cover of the Rocky IV soundtrack Easy Way Out, from the Japanese edition, and a cover of Metallica’s Creeping Death on the USB Memory Stick edition.

With these intense new songs joining their already highly praised arsenal, you can count on Bullet For My Valentine taking the stage at every major rock festival this coming summer in Europe.

Looking back, maybe just the one word doesn’t adequately describe Scream Aim Fire. There are two words – Brutally brilliant.
