There is something exciting about this seven-piece Melbourne ensemble complete with drums, percussion, five-part harmonies, guitar, bass, and keyboards. Their performance at Musicland for Asylum TV highlighted their strengths in musicianship, songwriting and vocal ability.
The name of the band is V7 which is the brainchild of singer/songwriter Victor Pender. The music is a blend of pop, funk and rock with catchy riffs, beautiful harmonies and some exceptionally good guitar work. The keyboard drives the ensemble which were brightly coloured with the beautiful vocals of the two female singers who, at times, transcended above all the instruments in an almost, mythical way. The keyboard added a funky and sometimes sassy melody, much like the lead singer who is known as ‘the music man’ The show was highly interactive, energetic and captivating.
V7 are a band who present groove and showmanship in a fun, quirky and very entertaining way. Each member is a professional working musician involved in session work, covers, originals, music videos, writing, arranging, recording, producing, engineering, performance, acting, teaching and touring. When they come together to perform, that experience and showmanship is at the forefront.
