“Live the live you love and love the life you live.” Alexander Raised Fist
The Rivalry had their home crowd on their side, warming the audience up nicely. This group consist of five members, with two main singers complementing each others sound. With a talented bassist and guitarist and an awesome drummer, the line up for this band rocks. They had a great stage show and good sound. Adeladians take notice.
Against were up next. They are another Swedish band that has played the whole tour with Raised Fist. They did not get the same reaction from the crowd as The Rivalry did. There was a lot of room left to dance on the floor. However this band was still very good with a drummer that I think sounds similar to Vinnie Paul from Pantera. The crowd’s reaction was not as strong as the other bands on the night.
Then came the main band, that was sure to get the crowds heart racing. Yes I am talking about the ever amazing Raised Fist. With the line up of Alexander aka Alle on vocals, Andreas aka Josse on bass, Marco and Daniel on Guitar and Matte Modin on Drums, they took to the stage. This was the first time that they have came down under for a tour and seemed to be loving it.
The band seemed conscious of getting their point of view across as they repeatedly told the fans to get up and dance. That you don’t have to have to piercing, tattoos and clothing to fit in here rather just a smile and some energy to dance.
The crowd soaked it up. There were bodies throwing themselves around and sweat dripping around the room. This night there seemed to be a lot of manly love getting around as there were a lot of, pardon the pun, raised fists as bouncers struggled to contain the energy of the crowd and the testosterone levels flowed over.
The drummer of this band does not practice with them except for when they tour or play live shows. Now while this seems strange, it works for them just fine. He was spot on on the night and was very, very fast. The drum solo was amazing -the double kick cranked to a speed that was unimaginable.
As the band walked off the stage the audience was left stranded, hanging there thinking to themselves that that this could not be the end. Back they came on for a few more songs and perhaps the most popular of the night. Playing Stronger Than Ever and Watch your Step set the crowd alight. They also played a cover from Gorilla Biscuits called New Direction which went down extremely well.
Leaving the stage for the last time the crowd quickly dispersed in a sea of sweat and smiles, having just witnessed one of the most energetic live performances you could see.
