Calling All Cars @ Fowler’sLive, Adelaide (13/08/11)

What a busy lifestyle the guys from Calling All Cars have at the moment! They have just come off the tour promoting their single Reptile and now they have launched immediately into touring and flogging their new album, Dancing With A Dead Man. The heavy touring however does not come through in the performace with the guys fresh and at their energetic best.

Opening with the first track of the new album, Redline, you could tell that we were in for a night of good OzRock, with what this writer believes to be with one of the best up and coming bands in Australia.

Haydn Ing’s energy with running around the stage, standing on the fall back amp and prompting the crowd to cheer and clap are signs of a great frontman, and he continued this throughout the set.

Second up was the new single Reptile which was well received by the crowd , however, following this up was the popular single off Hold Hold Fire Run Away which got the crowd firing on all cylinders.

One of the better tracks off Dancing With A Dead Man was next up She’s Delirious which again had both Haydn Ing and Adam Montgomery up on the fall backs to pump up an already overly inflated crowd.

Back that up with Hold Hold Fire and the crowd was whipped up into a frenzy.
The title track Dancing With A Dead Man and Desert Sun were preparing the crowd for the ultimate crowd sing along favorite Not Like Anybody which had the punters starting a mosh pit (albeit 15 people, but it was a good try).

More moshing was to come after Autobiotic which was in the form of the frenzied Animal which went off like a firecracker and had the crowd heavily involved.

Worlds Collide and No Sleep were the calm before the storm with the band finishing with Disonnect which had the crowd jumping and singing in unison which was great to see.

This band is truly the real deal with a wonderful front man in Haydn Ing who climbs the speaker stack and jumps off, runs around the stage and prompts the crowd at every opportunity. Adam Montgomery is a great sidekick for his frontman, again standing on the fall backs and inciting the crowd to get involved.

In my humble opinion, Calling All Cars is one of the must see Aussie rock bands, one gig and you will be hooked.
