King Tide @ Annandale, Sydney(4/3/11)

King Tide always get the house moving and the house this week was The Annandale. Reggae performed exceptionally well was what we were all there to hear at this hallowed venue this past Friday night. What you get is music to groove to and they deliver in spades.
Paul and Tony are leading the vocal attack up front as they kick off with Atomic and sure enough everyone is swaying to the wall of sound. The vocals don’t stop there as the band all lend harmonies and back up throughout. With the stellar horns and the groove laid out by the rhythm section you are infected by the beat and your heart smiles. With a set list that included the fabulous Drunk On Living, Rockers Style, and Lifeboat we were treated to songs from all of their releases.
It does not get any better than this on a Friday night, or any night, in Sydney. With some different or possibly new songs to my ears, The Tide were riding it high. Robbie on keyboards and his magnificent falsetto bring yells of delight from the throng of dancing super women who crowd the front of the stage. These boys definitely pull in the women (and men too) who want to have a good time and shake it till the ocean of sound drifts away.
For a few dollars you get music that will cleanse your soul, warm your heart and in these troubled times, what more could anyone want? Do yourself and your consciousness a favour and pay them a visit. They look forward to your presence.
