Agent Alvin @ The Rosemount,Perth (31/07/2010)

The Rosemount was abuzz for punters chasing some tasty beats of the drum and bass kind when New Zealand DJ Agent Alvin rolled into town, armed with a new mix CD for Ministry and an array of local Perth DNB, Dubstep and Breaks talent, it was a sure-fire recipe for awesomeness, and promoter Loaded Dice served up the menu.

Getting things started in the main arena was Perth’s next big DNB duo Ekko And Sidetrack, after the unfortunate late withdrawal of local hero and all round nice guy, DJ Jazza. Ekko And Sidetrack had the fairly small crowd interested and into it; the perfect start to the evening.

In the beer garden Concept and Fractured Beats had the curious and up-for-it punters lapping up an upbeat and tight breaks set, it was high energy stuff, with a few amongst the crowd getting a good old knees up.

Bastian rinsed the massive Rosemount system proper before probably Perths busiest DJ Muller took to the decks to put on the set of the evening. He was on top of his game and the crowd were loving it, pushing through a set bursting at the seams that even included local legends Grep Packer And MC Assassin’s latest banger Sound Criminal, keep an eye out kids, it’s large.

Agent Alvin graced the decks a little after time, with Assassin and Stylee at his side, he had the artillery to rip the roof off, but never really took it there, rolling through a set majorly made up of his mix CD, but not without local boy Shock One’s anthem Polygon to keep the locals honest.

A good night, with good people, good beats, it was all good.
