Creamfields @ ClaremontShowgrounds, Perth (02/05/10)
Thu 6th May, 2010 in Gig Reviews
And so, another beautiful day in Perth, and yet another festival rocks into our shores. Creamfields rocked into Perth, full of colour and promise, though only on a small scale and with headliners who were middle of the day acts six months ago, but it didn’t disappoint.
Promoters could have changed the day to Good Vibes, as the vibes were better than the festival that came earlier in the year. Kid Sister was an interesting addition to the line up of mainly elcetronica infused acts but she didn’t disappoint, blending in her Pro Nails track with the familiar dub-step sound.
Green Velvet took us to La La Land, and Lifelike had the fist pumpers loving it, but special mention has to go to Joris Voorn who pulled out the set of the day; cheese, but pure gold cheese.
Ferry Corsten was awesome as always, a master of the class, though a lot of people were left disappointed when his set was cut short without his anthems getting a proper rinse, major bummer.
The mask wearing Bloody Beetroots had the Robinson Pavilion heaving at the seems, turning the dance floor to a sweaty moshpit. They breezed through Warp 1.9 and the “whoop whoop’s” were deafening, truly awesome to watch.
There were faults to the day but not enough to take away from how great it was, line up changes happen, DJ’s cancel, live with it people, Fantastic day, bring on next year.
