For the first time in two years Marilyn Manson graced the shores of Perth and it was very clear that Manson was not in town for Telethon.
Supporting Manson on this tour were special guests Fear of Comedy a more fitting band compared to the all girl pop punk band The Spazzys, who supported him last time he came to Australia.
Manson, a legend in his own musical right was in Perth to promote his seventh studio album The High End of Low. The tour also saw the return of bass guitarist Twiggy Ramirez reuniting the Manson family.
The shock rocker put on a gothical theatrical spectacle, similar to that of Alice Cooper, complete with lights and smoke machines. When the set started, a big drape covered the whole stage then there was the crunching of guitars and a red light appeared from behind the drape, smoke slowly started to fill the room and the crowd started shouting for Manson.
The drape fell down and sent the crowd into a frenzy. The set list covered songs from most of his albums, including The Love Song, The Dope Show, The Flight Song and also his famous Eurythmics cover of Sweet Dreams.
Whether you hate him or love him, you must admit the man does have style, with as many costume changes as a Kylie Minogue concert, he even had an Australian flag draped around his shoulders at one stage.
Despite the rumours of what goes on at a Marilyn Manson concert (You heard about the puppies, right?) he was actually well mannered on the night, the most crude thing he did on stage was stick his hands down his pants, and mimic some sexual positions.
The night ended abruptly after he finished The Beautiful People and although many people were chanting for more Manson, sadly there was no encore.
