Pez is on his first national headline tour ‘A Mind Of My Own’ and after the massive hit The Festival song reached No. 7 in 2008’s Hottest 100 we knew this tour was going to be huge.

The crowd was warmed up by DJ Armee (Downsyde) with some classic Hip Hop tracks from Blackstar and Beastie Boys. Then the party got started with tracks from Hilltop Hoods, Muph n Plutonic and Katalyst.

As the stage floor started to fill, it was time for Tys to fire up. Fairly unknown in Perth, Tys (Pez’s little brother) hit the stage hard with their track Don’t get in line and a remix of Roots Manuva’s Witness the Fitness but it wasn’t til he stood on stage and produced an amazing a cappella beat that the crowd really responded.

As DJ Jackie Splash took to the stage it was time for Seth Sentry to light up the Rosemount. The dance floor was full as the crowd jumped to tracks Simple Game and Lazy. Seth showed off a different side when he remixed a track over a drum n bass beat and the crowd was jumping out of their skins. After calling for the crowd to yell “Where the Fuck is Pez?” it was time for the smash hit The Waitress song off The Waiter Minute EP. The crowd sang every word to every verse and made this performance something special. Seth Sentry is a superb new talent with his clever lyrics and great story telling skills he will be here for years to come.

There was a long break and the Rosemount dance floor felt like a sardine can by the time the lights dimmed and 360 and Hailey Cramer emerged out of the smoke. Pez came out to the loudest cheers of the night and went straight into Speak Out and Lost. After thanking Perth for being a great crowd and their support, he was back into it with This Sound and Ain’t Got Time. 360 then had the stage saying; “Not trying to suck your dick, but this is our best show yet”. He did some brilliant freestyle and then played My Old School from What you see is what you get. After 360 it was Pez’s time to reminisce with I Wanna Go, and then Cramer showed off her unique voice with a cover of the Fugees’ Killing me softly.

As the night came to an end, Pez played the track Heavenly loving and thanking his parents, and then the song that every Australian relates to; The Festival Song. The crowd wanted one more and Pez delivered with These Days to end the show.

Anyone that comes to Perth and plays 5 shows is going to get a lot of respect and the talent that was on show at the Rosemount was incredible. 2009 has been a great year for Aussie hip hop and with artists such as Pez, it’s only going to get bigger and better.
