Straight up this evening it was into Dementia 13 which saw the Sands Tavern full of people acting in a somewhat inappropriate manner. It was a thundery night within the Tavern which saw some hilarious activities eventuate inside. Dementia were in no way forgettable as their on stage presence was so profound it was almost intimidating. Songs including Body Rush, Careless (which had been devoted to Forefold whom were the support the night earlier), Soap Box, The Machine and Late Apologies saw some hilarious activities for those whom were watching. The lead singer appeared to be the most enthused by joining the slam dancers in the crowd despite being smashed in the face. From the first band on the bill, you couldn’t really ask for more nor could you receive it.

After what had been an earlier missed soundcheck, Bad Day Down appear out of everywhere. The few patrons that had been courageous enough to enjoy the set were too scared of the slam dancers to go any closer than five meters within the stage. A set of enjoyable thirty seconds songs which included Something (this may not be the actual song name), Does This Sound Like a USA Patriot, Cafe Latte Imperialism, Buying the Hand that Feeds, A Suspicious Argument, One For the Argument and the old favourites Australian is a state of Mind polished off with Democracy killed the Family that lived here. It was a fine display of what is available to the masses however, lead vocals were pretty much non-existent on the evening despite the back-ups being as clear as day.

So everyone has a few more VBs and next up is Lagwagon. The set opened with Island of Shame and as it ran in order was Making Friends, Disharmony, Violins, Razor Burn, Black Eyes, Give it Back, After You My Friend, Falling Apart, Coffee and Cigarettes, Errands, Coconut, Heartbreaking Music, Automatic, To All My Friends, Sleep and then one person came on stage to sing Back One Out which would have been great if he knew the words. Next up was Alien8 where the second verse is the same as the first, followed by Whipping Boy and the whole thing came to an end with May 16th.

Lindsay McDougall was back again and was more well polished than the evening before. Word on the stage was the day was spent at Australia Zoo where koalas have chlamydia thanks to Lagwagon. Joey Cape was lucky enough to be celebrating his birthday on this evening and as a caring Australian Lindsay made a Vegan birthday cake which was slammed into Joeys face just as the encore began. In true punk rock style, Joey played the last songs with a face covered in cake/icing and looked not only scary but ridiculous.
