Tuesday night provided the perfect opportunity for Escape The Fate to prove that despite their many alterations, they still are going to carry on as a band. New front man Craig Mabbitt was also able to show his versatility as a singer, verifying that he can do anything vocally that ex singer Ronnie Radke could do.

The build up to ETF’s performance was excruciating. Adelaide support acts Nazarite Vow and New Season Black put on solid, energetic shows as per usual but neither were overly captivating or astonishing. This may have been because It was hard to concentrate on either bands due to the squealing and shrieking of female adolescents who discovered that ETF bassist Max Green was walking around the venue.

Forced to go on stage right on time due to parents needing to pick up their underage children, ETF walked on stage one by one to a mix of roars and high pitched screams. Drummer Robert Ortiz made his grand entrance wearing an Australian flag as a cape and poor Mabbitt had to hobble up to his microphone due to his broken leg.

It was thrilling to watch Mabbitt rock out even with his leg in a cast. He laid down on the stage, sat down on a chair, crawled around and then just hopped around refusing to stay stationary even though he was clearly in pain.

Green dove into the crowd twice, once just narrowly missing the barricade. This was much to the delight of the young girls who were trying to pull Green’s clothes off, but much to the horror of the security guards who were forced to retrieve him.

Bryan Money or – œMonte’ as he is called was sharp as a tack on guitar, helping Mabbitt out as much as he could with the screaming. There were a few minor issues with sound but obviously ETF’s management were on guard to fix any problems, as every dilemma was resolved quickly.

Fowlers clearly were not expecting such a huge turn out, or they underestimated the ferocity of the under eighteen crowd, as the venue was ripped to shreds. The barricades were as good as useless as fans were reaching up onto the stage almost mauling the band. Green’s decision to take of his pants, revealing his briefs didn’t help as the crowd only became more determined to get closer to them.

Their set went for an hour, but it felt as though it was over in a heartbeat with the crowd left wanting more. Mabbitt impressed everyone with his voice, even though it doesn’t sound the same as Radke’s, it is still powerful and guttural.

Following their epic show Green, Ortiz and Money made them self’s available for photos and autographs which is remarkable considering most Aussie bands don’t even go that far out of their way for fans.
