Patrick Wolf has been making a big name for himself with the release of his third LP, The Magic Position. Playing the Basement in Sydney earlier this year to a smaller crowd, he has returned for a full band tour.

Tonight’s show had the atmosphere you would expect. The glitter covered crowd; the fabulist outfits Patrick wore and the costume changes staged behind a small screen set up behind the drummer. Everyone in the crowd seemed to be deeply in love.

Tonight Patrick Wolf was accompanied by a violin, double bass, drums and electronics. Patrick himself playing baby grand piano, violin and ukulele. But I think Patrick’s greatest instrument is his voice with its clear distinct sound.
It’s not hard to see why Patrick is the kind of musician who inspires the fans. He is a true performer full of smiles and a lot of colour; lovable and very down to earth.

He played every song you would love to hear from Accident and Emergency to Paris to the Magic Position. Climbing the speakers and enticing the crowd to clamour for more. After three encores. Its was time to say…

“I love you Sydney. I love you. Ill be back”
