The Mars Volta is synonymous with unpredictable live shows and mind-bending lyrics. FL hears how the band thrives on tumult.

I'm one of those people who just gets involved with everything (god that just sounds annoying doesn't it). I've done a bit of events management and still occasionally organise a housegig or two (DIY Housegigs, Melb), The biggest gig I'm organising at the moment is my wedding which will be in November and is turning out to be a bit of a music festival in itself.
I'm in what I could honestly call the worst band in the world, Don't Bury Us Before We're Dead, (and when I say worst I say it with much love). Our status as worst band is strange considering I'm a LOVER of great music, and find it difficult to function without it, unfortunately we don't all have talent. I should really stick to the visual arts I think.
Speaking of visual arts.....for quite a while I've been producing poster art, cover art and promo media for assorted local bands and events (I would give details but that might reveal some underlying bias and I have enough ethical issues in my life as it is...hrrmmm).
I'm an obsessive photographer, I document EVERYTHING and have fears that I'm beginning to live my life vicariously through my camera.
I'm currently doing my BA in Sculpture at RMIT and am so in love with myself right now as a result (yeah I'm probably a massive wanker, I know). It was a real toss up between photography and sculpture but I can include photography in my sculpture curriculum and work, so I have more options this way and how can I just go 2d when ther are so many dimensions that we can't even see.....
So basically, I think I mentioned it before, I reckon I'm a massive wanker who's totally in love with herself and probably should be slapped, or you could all just admit that I'm right and share the love......
Studying Sculpture and Photography, Psychedelia, surrealism, music associated art, poster art and screenprinting
The Mars Volta, Ween, Don't Bury Us Til We're Dead, RATM, Tool, Silver Mt Zion, Sigur Ros, do I really have to list them all, I'll be here for hours
Brazil, Howls Moving Castle, The Fountain, Pi, Twin Peaks (not really a movie I know)
American Psycho, American Gods, Food of the Gods, The Holotropic Mind

The Mars Volta on record and The Mars Volta in concert are two completely different things. Scabdates, the band's first live album, brings together the slick production of the El Paso act's studio releases and the epic jams of their live performances.
