I'm one of those border hopping kiwis that's landed in Australia and isn't going back until I've had my fill of gigs !
Although I could contribute some of the love I have for music due to the intense exposure I had to classical music from a very young age... it really started when my parents let me go to an all ages club on a Saturday afternoon "Circus - The Mosh Mellow Sessions". Every week for years we passed at least 6 hours each Saturaday, playing pool, arcade games & dancing on the cheesy lowered dance floor to anything from rage, iron maiden, machinehead, sepultura, pantera to weezer, the pixies and neil young. The early 90s were great !!
Gigs, movies, cooking & eating great food, foreign & independent cinema, chai, reading, monkey, cheese, wine, MUSIC !
Dresden Dolls, Weezer, The Pixies, Nine Inch Nails, The National, Death Cab for Cutie, Bright Eyes, The Cooper Temple Clause, The Mint Chicks, The Mountain Goats, Modest Mouse, Grandaddy, Patrick Wolf
Donnie Darko, Almost Famous, Trois Coleurs Trilogy, Pans Labyrinth, Sin City, City of God, The Sasquatch Gang, Kenny, Four Shades of Brown, Me and You and Everyone We Know
Diary (Chuck Palahniuk), Town by the sea (Chris Paling), The Contortionist's Handbook (Craig Clevenger), Blind Assassin (Margaret Atwood), Bloodlines (Ruth Rendell), Magician (Raymond Feist), Whit (Ian Banks)
