Formed in 2005, IRiS are now one of the most exciting up and coming bands in the Melbourne music scene. They have established themselves as a force to be reckoned with, gaining the attention of such recording megastars as Chad Kroeger and Kelly Clarkson, the latter of which personally requested them as her support band on her 2008 Australian tour. Unfortunately due to record label politics that combination wasn't meant to be, however the request itself was very humbling.
Additionally, IRiS took out the MusicOz Pop Artist of the Year for 2007, and were selected in the final 5 out of over 600 bands to be the support act for Bon Jovi in 2008.
Early on, IRiS played their very first gig on national television after sending a home demo for consideration to John Foreman's 'The Big Night In' on Channel 10.
IRiS are next set to blast out a rockin set at Live08, sharing a stage with the Rogue Traders during the 4 day festival.
Not bad for an unsigned band!
Their debut EP was produced by American producer Cory Churko who has worked with the likes of Shanai Twain, Kelly Clarkson and the Backstreet Boys. It's a 5 track disc, with strong hooks, crunchy guitars and soaring vocals.
