I commute between cairns and sydney, love going to see bands-like drums but am a painter. Have a few paintings sitting in johnos band room cairns (johnos closed down due to having no outside smoking area as did a lot of venues in cairns as well it was next to a new development and they complained about noise) also have many over the years now as jpegs. My son paints also and is more successful than myself; also just thinking now of all the ways we have in the past got to the big day out-security has been stepped up now. I haven't tackled this for a while, to be honest don't really play drums just get up at parties and think I can. I actuallly play piano. Going to see Mad Professor tomorrow also check out a band called coffin. Had an accident at work and am now on painkillers and trying to do a bit more painting when I am up for it. Also if you go to a bar called twelve bar blue in cairns some paintings there. BAr is run by marilyn who played keyboards and AD who plays regularly at cairns casino with some good musicians. also some paintings at Ricardo's an Italian restaurant on captain Cook Highway. doing one of Mad professor to doante to the haitiians. If youa re in to reggae check some people called miki and ally in cairns who put on some good gigs like at kuranda ampitheatre. also check out music city my sons friend Ryo and benson teach there and are good aspiring young musicians. Ryo's dad owns place and gaby also is good with instruments. CHECK OUT SMITHYS annandale and neil's guitars. Have you ever heard of Leo RAdo-great sound guy.
