Elmo Keep is a rock writer and critic living and working in Sydney. You can read her work regularly in several publications of ill-repute, including Guitarist Magazine, Australian Rolling Stone and RHYTHM - of which she is the founding editor. Elmo barely graduated from UTS with a degree in writing and cultural theory and now lectures there infrequently at the Journalism School, something which tickles her endlessly. Previously to this, she was just sixteen years old when she became SBS TV’s youngest ever presenter on EATCARPET, which she hosted as part of the inaugural LOUD media arts festival (now NOISE.) She fled that gainful employment to muck around with paints and smoke cigarettes at art school.
Elmo once told Gene Simmons to shove it.

I can still remember the night I first heard the Jesus and Mary Chain - in the dank recesses of a Melbourne bar, kissing a boy that I thought to be the coolest thing since the revival of the horizontal stripe.
