All About Me
i love my music, especially live music, which i believe would be a little influenced by my first exposure at age 4 or 5 in the early 70's ( the bands were hush and little river band). this probably makes me seem a little too old for the site, but as i'm told, most people would be surprised when they meet me.
i went to my first festival concert when i was 14 (bands were: the venetians, the radiators, with one other and the angels headlining). my opinion of these bands, is quite tragic today but those early days are what rollercoasted my experience of current new music of the time, seeing concert after concert and festival after festival.
it all stemed from the early exposure to live aussie rock/pop but my taste for international pop/rock has been with me since i was 5. everything from rock to disco, alice cooper, t-rex to cat stevens and the jackson5, all those countdown days too as well as early metal.
during my teenage years i developed a taste for ska and rockabilly as well as exposing my ears to the early forms of rock/pop music of the 50's and 60's from chuck berry to the beatles to jimi hendrix and the doors to soul music.
from the time i could (and a few times illegally couldn,t) i have watched bands play in pubs and clubs which was quite often how i was able to see international acts. i have proudly seen madness (when i was 16), jesus and mary chain, nirvana, and jeff buckley.
these are only a tiny sample and do not define how extensive my taste in music is but the only thing that is common is i have always supported fresh sound and a mixture of styles. being a big fan of triple j radio since 1983 has been the biggest and most influencial mark on me.
i don't think there has been a year gone by for the past 20 years that i haven't gone to a festival one place or another. travelling interstate or overseas just to see your favourites or be exposed to new bands has always been appealing. the last 2 years i've gone japan to experience fujifestival and summersonic and hopefully this year i'll go to italy for gods of metal festival and japan for loudpark festival.
the rock and music journey just never ends...........
