All About Me

Ozmusic Events is a collective project to advance local bands and national bands through festivals and shows. We are a brand new company created by co-owners Shane Downey, Stuart Hainsworth and Rebecca McCall.

We work in conjunction with Australian Music Management, our partner booking agency, both based in Brisbane.

A bit about our current projects:

MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVAL

Since the Festival LIVID’ s last show in 2003, Brisbane has struggled to keep up with the demands of consumers adhering to rock and alternative music.

Most Brisbane venues have small audience capacity with limited sound projections to show these genres of music, none have which come close to the energy or enthusiasm of a Livid Festival.

One Hotel that has changed with the times is the Jubilee Hotel situated on St Paul’s Terrace - Fortitude Valley. Since changing Management in December 2007, the Jubilee has made some exceptional layout changes for bands and patrons alike with its name and popularity doing nothing but increasing over the last few months.

The aim for MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVALS is to reach full capacity of a 1500 person audience at the Jubilee Hotel in Fortitude Valley with an obvious affiliation of Australian Music artists and bands only.

With the support of all the artists/bands/promotional people on deck, we are certain MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVAL will be a massive success and with this, look to do it again in the near future, with a progression to a larger audience thereafter, thus, becoming the new and improved Brisbane based festival

With such big shoes to fill and so much to compete against, Shane, Rebecca and Stuart are three dedicated enormously dedicated event organizers with many years of experience in all aspects of promoting, performing, planning within the arts /entertainment industry. They have the knowledge and know-how to get this project underway and make it a success for the audience, bands, sponsors and employees.

MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVAL will definitely NOT be a Dance music Festival. Fluoro colours will definitely NOT be a theme for the day, but rock and roll most definitely will be!!!

Its gonna be solid chokkas full of Brisbane and Australia's Best Rock Bands, and also some of the country's finest Hip Hop, Dub and funk acts.

“Come and help us relive everything that has disappeared from our music festivals. Help us bring the passion back into rock and roll.”

MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVAL is a festival dedicated to improving and promoting our extremely healthy local Brisbane live music scene.

MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVAL happens on June 28th 2008 @ The Jubilee Hotel, 470 St. Paul’s Terrace Fortitude Valley. Gates open 11am; The Jubilee Hotel is licensed until 3am. Tickets are $44 and go on sale Monday 21st April.

MASSIVE SOUNDS FESTIVAL is an 18+ show and ID will be required on Ticket Purchase and also upon entry to the venue.

The Festival line-up, across four stages, includes: Final Days of Autumn, The Lowdown, Dogpound (Two Resin Dogs), Chocolate Strings, Stone Parade, Repeat Offender, New Manic Spree, Omni Anti, Hip Pocket, Abby Skye, Tim Steward Band, Returns, The Score, River Stone Haze, Letter to Spain, 1989, The Transits, Fasttrak Euphoria, The Internalists, Dan Acfield Band (Dear April), Claire Whiting Band, Kent Street, Shelby Lim, Saskia Blu, Patrick Tunney, Liam Bryant, Emma Carton Band, The Figures, Maverick, Nightillion, Shoebox, Distant Truth, Kye Cole, Danck Morass DJ’s and more to be announced including
