New Zealand rockers The Brunettes have spent the past couple of years honing their skills on the juggernaut that is their live show leaving little time for recording – but finally the duo have made it to the studio and will be releasing the fruits of their labour to spellbound fans.

The Brunettes made their first foray to Oz back in 2003 where support slots with the likes of Architecture in Helsinki quickly earned them local fans. Since then they’ve sharpened up their skills with a series of supports with acts such as The Shins, Rilo Kiley and Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

This year the duo will release album number three Structure & Cosmetics; the first Brunettes’ offering for both Sub Pop in the USA and Etch n Sketch Music in Australia.

Full of pop charm, their tunes have you floating along in a happy go lucky bubble for days.

Sydney fans can get a taste of the album first hand when The Brunettes land her for their album launch for one show only at the Hopetoun Hotel on Aug 24. Tix on sale now…
