Fasterlouder is super-duper excited to announce that the alt-country crooner Ryan Adams will be back in the country this August for a tour that will take in shows in Melbourne, Sydney and for the first time in Adelaide and Brisbane. And he’ll be bringing his band The Cardinals along for the ride.
As well as sharing an all-too-similar name with a certain ‘adult contemporary’ rocker from Canada, Ryan Adams got his name out there early in his career as part of the band Whiskeytown. Five years down the track and after several albums he decided to take it solo, which was when things really took off for him. He released Heartbreaker in 2000 and he’s been nothing but prolific ever since, releasing a handful more solo albums as well as three albums with The Cardinals.
When he returns to Australia it’ll be on the back of his latest release with The Cardinals titled Easy, Tiger, which is already racking up the glowing reviews. Both Rolling Stone and the Sydney Morning Herald loved it (not to mention Fasterlouder), praising it for its unique blend of alt-country rhythms and mellow, mournful pop music and hinting that it might very well be his best release yet.
Tickets go on sale next Friday so don’t miss the opportunity to see Ryan Adams rockin’ out in his prime with The Cardinals. Bit of a hint though if you’re planning on heading along… Just don’t ask him to sing Summer of 69! It’ll all end in tears so don’t even think about it.
Tickets go on sale next Friday 6th July, catch Ryan Adams & The Cardinals at the flowing dates…
