Well the rumours have been circulating for a few months now – and finally we have confirmation – The Kings of Gothic rock are heading to our shores for the first time in seven years.

Robert Smith is packing his eyeliner and heading to Australia in August to play five epic shows around this fair land. The shows are set to cover their entire 30-year repertoire in a three-hour set that includes stunning lighting and visuals as part the performance.

Forget 45 minute emo sets about ex-girlfriends and childhood pets – The Cure are coming to show those youngsters how it’s really done.

Here are the dates:

Saturday August 4: Challenge Stadium, Perth
Monday August 6: Adelaide Entertainment Centre
Wednesday August 8: Brisbane Entertainment Centre
Friday August 10: Sydney Entertainment Centre
Sunday August 12: Rod Laver Arena, Melbourne

The Cure will perform the entire concert, promising 180 minutes of music from 7.45pm.

Tickets go on sale at 9am on Friday June 22.
