For the 2008 line-up head over here.

One of Australia’s premier festivals is set to be bigger and better than ever this year. FasterLouder is presenting and will be bringing you a stack of full coverage – peek below for the exclusive lineup of acts you’ll be seeing when Splendour in the Grass returns to Belongil Fields in Byron Bay on August 4 and 5, and stay tuned for info on sideshows around the country.

Representing somewhat of a UK indie invasion this year, it will see the return of Bloc Party to the festival stage as well as the Arctic Monkeys, Kaiser Chiefs, The Shins, Lily Allen and nu-rave heroes Klaxons.

The local contingent ain’t too shabby either: the Dirty Three will be touching back down in the country especially for the festival, seminal Aussie group Powderfinger will also be there while The Cat Empire will be playing a rare live show.

Airbourne will also be bringing a slice of true blue Aussie pub rock to Splendour in the Grass, and FasterLouder spoke to lead singer Joel about the gig.

“It’ll be the first time we’ve ever played at the festival, so we’re really looking forward to it,” he said. “It’s certainly one of those classic Aussie festivals and there’s a lot of love out there for it.”

“We’re pumped to be on the bill, and can’t wait to get on down there and play!” By the time the festival rolls around the band’s debut album Runnin’ Wild will have hit the shelves, which saw them working with legendary rock producer Bob Marlette.

Tickets are on sale Monday 14th May, stay tuned to Fasterlouder for news, interviews and other full coverage of the festival, as well as info on sideshows around the country. Lineup details are below.

I've pretty much seen all of those bands coz they've all been out here for festivals and tours or they are Australian. Splendour has never really "wowed" me like V Festival did with Pixies, Sonic Youth was great but I just went to their sideshow..
