Xtina to visit Australia
Mon 16th Apr, 2007 in Local News
Christina Aguilera will return to Australia in July for a series of Arena shows in support of new album Back to Basics. After an Auckland gig on July 11, the Australian tour will work its way around the nation over the next two weeks, starting at Perth’s Burswood Dome on July 14.
Auguilera will bring with her a specially designed stage that will give her fans extreme close-up views, as well as custom-built scenes and over 600 moving lights, all powered by a massive hydraulic system. Stage hands will have to lug over 500,000kg of gear around, including 130 costumers for Xtina and a 25-strong cast of musicians and dancers. Catch all that?
Back to Basics was released in August last year and hit number one in 15 countries, including Australia, the UK and Japan. Ain’t No Other Man, the album’s first single, won Aguilera a Grammy Award for Best Vocal Performance, while Candyman, her current single, debuted at number six on the ARIA singles chart last week.
