In the Pines ready to rock

RTR FM’s annual In the Pines fundraiser is all set to rock and roll this weekend, with the venue all set up and the timetables all locked in. The show takes place on Saturday (April 14) from noon right through until 10pm at Somerville Auditorium at UWA.

This year’s event will be the 15th In the Pines. Yes, 15 years of WA music. Longer than John Howard’s term as PM. 15 years ago, most of us would have been watching transformers and playing with Ninja Turtle action figures… but since then. In the Pines has hosted the biggest names in WA music, including Jebediah, John Butler, The Sleepy Jackson and The Panics.

As previously reported, Schvendes and The Kill Devil Hills will head this year’s lineup, with the recently-signed Institut Polaire and expats Tucker B’s also among the names on the bill. Sex Panther will warm up for their upcoming trip to England, while Stems frontman Dom Mariani will prepare for his old band’s forthcoming reunion when he plays with his new band, The Majestic Kelp.

Stina will open the bill at noon, with every act given 30 minutes right through to headliners Schvendes, who play at 9.30. Full set times are:
