Melbourne punters will get a sneak preview of the debut album from Ben Birchall and the Corrections when they play Friday April 20 at Ding Dong Lounge, supported by their fine friends Good Intentions and Oh Mercy.
The first 50 payers through the door will also receive a free limited edition sampler featuring tracks from their upcoming debut album, Last Ditch Brigade, due for release in June.
Since their 2004 Year of the Monkey EP and radio hit ‘Three Minute Revolution’, things appeared a little quiet on the Corrections front. But behind the lines, things were firing ahead. Birchall was writing some of the best songs of his career and plenty of touring had transformed the Corrections from a loose studio project into a razor-sharp backing band.
Birchall and his band mates checked into the studio where they recorded Last Ditch Brigade with Matt Maddock (*Dan Kelly*, Something For Kate). The album is a mix of spiky pop, mournful bar room ballads and sing-along choruses.
The Corrections will be saluting bass player Big Country Glenn Arnup on April 20, who’s taking off for some foreign service. So come pay your respects – the Ding Dong show will be his last for quite a while.

Last Ditch Brigade will be released in June via Cavalier Music with distribution through Shock.
