Saosin to tour Australia inMay

They came, they saw, they conquered, and, my oath, they’ll do it again. Southern California quintet Saosin were last in the country as part of the 2006 Taste of Chaos tour, and we all know how successful that little venture was. Now to please their legions of new fans the post-hardcore troupe will be returning to Australia in May for their first ever headline tour.

Now, let’s get one thing settled, Saosin are no strangers to popularity. Just take a look at their back story. It all started in March 2003 with the release of their explosive debut EP, Translating the Name, which has since seen the band labeled as originators of the huge post-hardcore scene.

From that point on they have staked their place as one of the most loved new bands in rock – earning main stage slots on the Vans Warped Tour, selling out club shows in minutes, hitting the road in support of heavyweights like AFI, Avenged Sevenfold, My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday, and garnering an ocean of fans who’ve downloaded their songs from MySpace more than five million times.

And that was all before they’d even released a full-length album!

The band finally headed into the studio with producer Howard Benson (My Chemical Romance, Head Automatica) to produce acclaimed album Saosin. May the good times continue…
