The Magic Numbers join theGreat Escape

UK artists, The Magic Numbers have been added to the line-up for the Great Escape – it will be the band’s only Sydney show – bet you wanna buy tickets now!

Followed up on the success of their first full length CD, UK popsters The Magic Numbers will unleash tracks from their second album , Those The Brokes, on the Great Escape audience.

Also joining the line-up Southern California’s indie stalwarts The White Buffalos who will no doubt deliver their tales of longing and loss.

Local popster Melanie Horsnell is making a welcome return to The Great Escape stage.  Penning songs mined from the depths of her real life and being hailed as one of the artists responsible for nufolk, Melanie will spread her sound to the Great Escape punters.

Joining her on the singer/songwriter bandwagon is Canada’s favourite son, Joel Plaskett. His last Australian tour generated a huge response to his live shows and the award winning singer songwriter is sure to go down a treat.

Keeping it global – Ireland’s Iain Archer – best known for his work with Scottish group Snow Patrol will be dishing up traks from his solo album.

Are you ready to dance? Purple Sneakers has become Sydney’s favourite late late night indie club and now they’re bringing the fun to The Great Escape, as they present The Tin Shed! Featuring your favourite Purple Sneakers djs, including PHDJ, and a stack of hot new bands, the blurry, fun and irresistible mix of indie, pop, rock and other guilty music pleasure will have you in your dancing shoes all night.

Sydney MC Macromantics will no doubt get the hip hop fans on their feet with her ripe honesty, dirty beats and hyper energy. Perth outfit The Panda Band, (fresh from a support with Gomez) have seen a lot of tour action since the days of their triple j hottest 100 fave, Sleepy Little Deathtoll Town. The band plan to unleash tracks from their new album on TGE.

When Melbourne rockers Children Collide take the stage, you’re gonna know about it. Treating US audiences to a taste of Aussie rock throughout March and releasing their new EP these guys have honed their stage skills,TGE punters will reap the benefit.

Sydney thrash fans will be pleased with the announcement that local outfit  Bridezilla will be lending their belting goth thrash to the festival. Catch them at the Tin Shed.

The Paper Scissors have been making a name for themselves by playing with the likes of Regurgitator and appearing on nearly every festival bill in the country, wlecome them to the Great Escape.

With his considered lyrics and gentle honeyed vocals, singer songwriter Wons Phreely has been compared the Ben Kweller and shared the stage with Bob Evans and M Ward. As you sit back and enjoy the tunes, you’ll be wondering where he’s been hiding.

Punk, folk, blues and dance…they all have a place when it comes to The Mares! This deliciously mental trio have made a name for themselves playing with The Grates, and Sweden’s Shout Out Louds, and now they’re bringing the flavour, along with the sounds of their first EP, to The Great Escape.

Circuit-bent-horror-pop group Toy Death takes nostalgia to a whole new realm. If you haven’t witnessed their mutant musical creations, made from old childhood toys, you need to get yourself to The Tin Shed
