Deal or no Deal? Pixies toheadline Blackjack '07

Fans of the Pixies need wait no longer. Indie’s hottest reunion tour will finally visit Perth when Blackjack 2007 rolls into Claremont Showgrounds on April 5.

Frank Black, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and Dave Lovering will headline the event, which will also include the first WA performance from Gnarls Barkley as well as sets from Eskimo Joe, The Living End, The Vines, Birds of Tokyo and Children Collide.

Pixies recorded four studio albums between 1985 and 1993, and went on to influence some of the biggest names in rock, including Nirvana and Radiohead’s Thom Yorke. The four-piece reunited in 2004 for extensive touring of Europe and North America.

The lineup had been pencilled in for the autumn edition of Rock-it, however, Rock-it’s spiritual home at Arena Joondalup was unavailable and the concert had to move to Claremont.

Tickets are available from www.heatseeker.com.au, Live clothing stores, Mill’s Records, Planet Video, Beat Music, Star Perth, Star Mandurah, The Prince of Wales in Bunbury and 3 Bears in Dunsborough from February 23. Special online presale tickets will be available through Heatseeker from February 16.

Why do Eskimo Joe and The Living End have to stink things up between Pixies and Gnarls Barkley?
