Elbow to make Australianreturn

English band Elbow will play a series of headline gigs when they visit Australia next month for the Playground Weekender festival. The tour takes in Perth, Brisbane and Melbourne, before winding up in Sydney with Playground as well as a headline gig at Home.

Elbow toured Australia in 2004 as special guests of Placebo and released Leaders of the Free World, their third album, in 2005. They have also played on the Pyramid Stage at the prestigious Glastonbury Festival and recently played with Snow Patrol on a sold-out arena tour in the UK.

As previously reported on FasterLouder, the band will top the bill Playground Weekender bill, along with The Dears, !!!, The Presets and Laurent Garnier over the March 9-11 weekend.

Elbow’s headline tour takes in the following:

March 6: Metro City, Perth
March 8: The Tivoli, Brisbane
March 9: Prince of Wales, Melbourne
March 10: Playground Weekender
March 11: Home, Sydney
