The return of the Lemonheads

Evan Dando’s indie rock icons, The Lemonheads will be making a welcome return to Australia at this year’s Great Escape Festival, following plans for a national tour.

With their first album release since 1997 already charting, there is no denying the band still retains popularity with indie music fans who remember fondly The Lemonheads opus Alyson’s Starting To Happen (about Alyson Morgan of Smudge fame)

Cut to 2007 and Dando and a new line-up of The Lemonheads are back. Dando is particularly excited to present the band’s new tracks to fans, spruiking the new album as sounding like The Lemonheads only better and describing it as “Louder, faster, more like Buzzcocks pop-punk—and way less introspective.” 

Don’t take Dando’s word for gospel though, check out The Lemonheads when they land in your town this April. Tickets for all club shows on sale February 12.
