The Fergusons reunite forone-off show
Tue 30th Jan, 2007 in Local News
Al Nistelberger, Grant Joyce and Wayne Beadon - three-fifths of indie-popsters The Fergusons - will perform onstage together for the first time since the band parted ways two years ago. The gig is set for Mojo’s Bar and entry is a bargain, at just $5.
The trio will open the show with a set of The Fergusons material in acoustic mode, and will do so without the efforts of former members Matt Wheeler and Mike Bruce. The band’s set will be followed by performances from Good Little Fox, The Bullet Holes and WAM Song of the Year winners Institut Polaire.
The Fergusons played a farewell gig early in 2005 to a packed Amplifier Bar with support from a host of WA’s favourite indie bands. Though their debut album was in the pipeline for a couple of years, the long-player was never completed. The band’s most loved work included Sinner is Red, Everything’s Gone Bad and Sad Simone, which all enjoyed high rotation on Triple J and took the band to Byron Bay for Splendour in the Grass in 2003.
Since the band’s split, Nistelberger, Joyce and Beadon have been working on a new project, the Bipolar Bears, which also features Little Birdy drummer Matt Chequer.
