Joanna Newsom fans that managed to score tix to her sold out Sydney and Melbourne gigs must be feeling like the cat that swallowed the canary right about now with the news that Andrew Bird has been added to the line-up for the chanteuse’s shows

Andrew has all but sold out his solo gigs – so his inclusion in the Newsom dates will no doubt please fans. Andrew will also be playing with Holly Throsby at the Brass Monkey in Cronulla (Sydney) on Sunday January 28.

Bird’s winning combination of singer/songwriter, violinist/guitarist and whistler (yes whistler) has earned him fans with the indie crowd and seen the crew at Pitchfork declare undying love – so if you have the cash, make sure you snap up a ticket to one of his gigs.
