The return of The Slits

Seminal dub punk riot grrrl band, The Slits have returned to the stage after a 25 year sabbatical with plans to assault your senses at Golden Plains Festival and select gigs on the East Coast this March

Ari Up and Tessa Pollit will take the helm to deliver The Slits distinctive sound to a new generation of rock fans. Heralded as the forerunners of a unique Dub/Punk fusion, The Slits primitive sound has influenced countless bands over their 30-year existence.

Formed in 1976, the band earned immediate notoriety after opening for The Clash on the ‘White Riot Tour’. They soon recorded their legendary debut album ‘Cut’ with Reggae veteran Dennis Bovell, followed by the more experimental ‘The Return Of The Giant Slits’.

While the band’s demise was as swift as its rise to notoriety, (they split soon after Revenge of the Giant Slits) in 2005 Ari and Tessa joined forces again, to record the ‘Revenge of The Killer Slits’ EP, marking the beginning of their long awaited return. The Slits are back!

The reformed Slits band will feature Ari Up, Tessa Pollit, NO, Adele Wilson, Anna Schulte and Hollie Cook. Tickets on sale January 12.
