Spend your Oz Day Eve withDead Frenchmen
Wed 10th Jan, 2007 in Local News
In preparation for the release of their debut album Wonderland in February, Dead Frenchmen will play a special show at The Evelyn on Australia Day Eve.
Dead Frenchmen will feature their jangly pop anthems and edgy new wave beats on Thursday 25 January, alongside Bit By Bats and Winterpark.
Since releasing their first EP When Ghosts Take Over and scoring a Triple J Next Crop artist accolade in 2005, Dead Frenchmen have spent the past two years constantly touring with the likes of The Morning After Girls, Midnight Juggernauts, The Howling Bells, Pharaohs and The Redsunband.
Wonderland, the debut album from the Melbourne locals, was recorded in less than two weeks at Birdland Studios with Lindsay Gravina. Revealing traces of Morrissey, Joy Division, Swervedriver, Interpol and Echo and The Bunnymen, Dead Frenchmen’s simmering vocals are matched with cascading guitars and edgy beats.
Stay tuned for a national album launch tour announcement soon. In the interim, head to The Evelyn on Australia Day Eve and experience Dead Frenchmen.
