Meredith announce details ofGolden Plains Festival

The worst-kept secret this year is out. There will be another festival at Meredith this Summer.

The team that brings you the Meredith Music Festival has been hand-crafting this new vessel in dry-dock for a many a long winter and she is finally ready to set sail on Her Maiden Voyage.

The Festival will be known as Golden Plains, so named for the Shire she resides in, and will take place at the Meredith Supernatural Amphitheatre on an Epic Long Weekend at the end of this Summer; specifically the weekend of March 10-12 2007, known as Labour Day Weekend.

It will essentially be staged in the same style as her big sister Meredith, with all Meredith’s trademark characteristics, and a few distinguishing tweaks.

Golden Plains will take place in the same beautiful venue, The Supernatural Amphitheatre, and in the same rolling campgrounds, with the same rules. All music will be made on the very same One And Only Stage. The B.Y.O policy that is so prized at Meredith remains intact for this one too. But No Glass, please. Unlike just about everything else on the planet, there shall be NO commercial signage onsite and in fact this one will have NO commercial sponsors AT ALL. It’s meant to be a haven from all that crap. Attractions and facilities such as The Pink Flamingo Bar (*Where Nobody Knows Your Name), The Meredith Eye, Sportsfield, Tai Chi Masterclass, Sunset Strip and Ecoplex Cinema will all be in operation.

The Line-up
The Bellrays, Fat Freddys Drop, Yo La Tengo, The Avalanches DJ Show, Gotye, !!!, Comets on Fire, The Slits, The Drones, Ground Components, Mountains In The Sky, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, many more to come.

Tickets go on sale from 10am Wed November 29.
Tickets will be sold online via www.goldenplains.com.au.
They will also be available from the following stores: Polyester Fitzroy, Greville Prahran, Missing Link Melbourne City, Capricorn Leading Edge Music Geelong, Leading Edge Music Ballarat, and Swell Café Jan Juc. They are $169.90 plus booking fee.
