Spectrum – home to the inner city’s indie kids will play host to a weekly Reggae night. The brains behind this project? Freedom Sounds.
From Sunday November 19, Freedom Sounds’ Reggae Night will be hitting Sydney’s live music scene. The pitch: Reggae bands and DJs will play alongside each other on a weekly basis, bringing roots, dub, dancehall and drum and bass to the masses.
The launch night brings together FBI radio’s Basslines Crew together with DJs and MCs. Clocking up recent supports with big names such as Fat Freddy’s Drop and Katchafire, Bassline Crew are definitely one to watch. One of the legends of the Sydney reggae scene, Ibo Jah, will also provide live toasting to make punters dance until they drop. Keeping it all together are the in-house DJs the Selecta and Ben Jah Man, also known as Freedom Sound.
Each week will see new special guest DJs join the crews on the turntables.
