A few weeks back, ROCK THE VOTE announced the following illustrious list of acts: YOU AM I, SPIDERBAIT,SHIHAD, THE BUTTERFLY EFFECT, LYRICS BORN, PIGEON JOHN, SOMA RASA, RESIN DOGS, ACE,DJ NICK TOTH and DJ SAMPOLOGY.

Today the organisers are very pleased to add the following attractions to this list…

ROCK THE VOTE is proud as punch to announce that Australian rock legend, activist, politician and front man of the mighty Midnight Oil for an incredible 26 years, MR PETER GARRETT AM MP will be at the RNA Showgrounds to address the crowd on November 18. The Oils were renowned for their fierce independent stance and active support of a range of contemporary concerns. Now the Labor Member for Kingsford Smith and the Shadow Parliamentary Secretary for Reconciliation and the Arts, Peter Garrett’s passion for social justice is as strong as ever and he has been instrumental in putting ROCK THE VOTE together. Listen up!

Rounding off the list of musical offerings is hot new Melbourne act, the Slammin’ jazz-hop sextet TRUE LIVE, combining classical instrumentation, virtuoso musicianship and a deep love of hip-hop and jazz with the linguistic acrobatics of front man RHYNO. The result is truly unique.

Bringing their very own and unmistakable brand of political satire to ROCK THE VOTE will be none other than THE CHASER team! The crew behind the ABC TV series The Election Chaser (2001), CNNNN (2002), CNNNN Live (2003) and of course the satirical newspaper The Chaser amongst other things, will be on site and up to their usual attention seeking activities at ROCK THE VOTE.
