Rock and Pop dominated the nominations for  this year’s Channel [V] OZ Artist of the Year awards with Wolfmother, The Veronicas, Eskimo Joe and Rogue Traders all in the running for the only publicly-voted award at this year’s ARIAs.

The Channel [V] Oz Artist of the Year Top 4 nominees were all selected by viewers, who voted from a list of Top 50 nominated artists.

Tune in to Channel [V] on Sunday October 29 at 3.30pm when hosts James Mathison and Yumi Stynes present the winner with their award live on the ARIA red carpet during Channel [V]’s exclusive ACCESS ALL ARIAS: RED CARPET LIVE! special.

Previous winners of the viewer voted award include Guy Sebastian and six-time winner Silverchair.

Says Silverchair drummer, Ben Gilles: “The Channel [V] OZ Artist of the Year award has been very kind to us. It’s always meant a lot because it’s usually the only prize at the ARIAs that’s actually decided by fans rather than the music industry. I think there were a few times over the years where we were nominated in a bunch of categories and the only one we won was Oz Artist of the Year so thank God it was there or we’d have really looked like losers!”
