One of the biggest Aussie bands of the mid eighties, the Hoodoo Gurus, have been announced as the headliners for this year’s Stonefest at University of Canberra
With a string of hits, including ‘My Girl’, ‘Tojo’, ‘I Want You Back’ and and ‘Like Wow, Wipeout!’, the Hoodoos soon achieved legendary status in the eighties, while tracks like ‘What’s My Scene’ and ‘The Right Time’ cemented the band’s in the hearts of the nation’s rock fans during the nineties.
Despite this string of hits, the band broke up in 1998, only to reform in 2004 with a brand new album and an appearance on the Big Day Out tour, which garnered a new generation of fans for the Hoodoos.
Most recently the Hoodoo Gurus were honoured by a who’s who of Aussie rock when Spiderbait, The Spazzys, Grinspoon, You Am I and The Living End joined forces to appear on the tribute album Stoneage Cameo.
Catch the legendary Hoodoo Gurus at this year’s Stonefest when they launch into twenty years of top Aussie rock.
