Jeff Martin to tour
Tue 15th Aug, 2006 in Local News
Having recently completed an Australian tour, Jeff Martin is already feeling the pangs of withdrawal from this great Southern land and has announced plans for a return trip to Oz.
It seems Martin was so enamoured of his last tripto our shores that he decided it was time to return. Don’t take our word for it – here’s what the man had to say;
My dear friends,
Thankfully, the time has come once again to tour the great land of Oz. During past “Tea Party” tours I have been witness to the growing appreciation of world music elements that were central to the magic created by Jeff Burrows, Stuart Chatwood and myself. In this time…unfortunately, we are unable to come together to reinvent those moments.
However, the clouds have parted and an artistic friendship; which has been simmering for ten years, has now been put on the front burner.
Ritesh Das, one of the foremost tabla players in the world, has been my co-conspiritor in bringing world music to the rock and roll front line. It is a dream come true to be able to announce that I will be touring in Australia in early September with Ritesh and his Toronto Tabla Ensemble…
Catch Jeff Martin, Ritesh Das and his Toronto Tabla Ensemble at the following venues:
Friday September 1 – Metropolis, Freemantle
Sunday September 3 – HQ, Adelaide
Monday September 4 – Prince of Wales, Melbourne
Thursday September 7 – Enmore Theatre, Sydney
Friday September 8 – Great Northern, Bryon Bay
Sunday September 10 – Tivoli, Brisbane
Tickets now on sale.
