With his previous two albums getting rave reviews both in Australia and the UK, King Curly has taken his unique sound to a new level, for the latest release The Doomsday Piano. Utilising hand-wrought instruments including a fence paling banjo with a feral goat-skin head and percussion made from hub caps, tea chests and petrol cans, King Curly have produced an innovative new sound.
The album’s first single, released last week, ‘I’m Coming Back (In A Revenge Song)’ has already seen programmers adding it to their station playlists and is sure to attract new fans to this blues and roots influenced band.
Since touring nationally with the likes of Paul Kelly and the Cat Empire, King Curly has gone from local legend status to achieve a more mainstream success.
You can catch King Curly touring around Australia this August & September. The Doomsday Piano is out August 5 through Vitamin Records
