Next Big Thing, round two

Just 25 bands remain in this year’s Next Big Thing competition after the first round of heats recently came to a close.
The most convincing winners in round one, Fear of Comedy, head up the lineup for semi-final one at the Rosemount Hotel on July 21.
Hotly-tipped Streetlight and The Colors join a bill at Amplifier Bar the next night alongside The Bullet Holes, whose Ampfest win put them straight through to the semis.
The regional heat winners will fight it out at the Swan Basement on the 28th for the remaining two spots in the final, on the 29th at the Rosemount.

Metropolitan semi 2, Amplifier Bar, July 22:
Nix, The Bullet Holes, Hoopers Store, The Colors, Streetlight, 8 Ball and Munchie Man (featuring Nic Reid), Matt Irvin, New Lost City
Reginal semi, Swan Basement, July 28:
Bartlett (Geraldton), The Second Rule (Bunbury), MJ (Esperance), Tangled Thoughts of Leaving (Mandurah), Gemma Stacey (Margaret River), Theresa Hillhouse (Karratha), The Flaming Sheilas (Albany)
